The independent feature film industry in the UK has developed an array of inter-locking arrangements to achieve the twin goals of production of the film and protection of the financial investment.

To secure these arrangements funders typically require security over assets including the film, distribution agreements, any collection societies, clearance from cast and crew, any music and parity with or priority over other funders.

Calvert Solicitors has been at the heart of this industry and organised arrangements for a number of independent feature films. Due to the complexity of the security arrangements we understand and have satisfied banks and other financial institutions. We have acted for important independent film-makers, international film distributors, completion guarantors, film funds and have acquired film libraries on behalf of clients.
